Daily Destination – Italy
It’s almost the holiday weekend, but before you jet off to wherever you’re celebrating the 4th, take a moment to soak in today’s Daily Destination. I almost feel like it’s a crime to try to explain how beautiful this wedding is – the pictures truly speak for themselves. Chicago wedding photographer Kenny Kim wins serious brownie points for letting us share this exclusive wedding with you! Grab your passport, because today’s destination wedding takes us all the way to Italy.Meghan & Justin
Meghan & Justin are from the Midwest, and they like to march to the beat of their own drum. For example, they decided to go on their honeymoon BEFORE their wedding, which allowed them to focus on planning their dream destination wedding in Tuscany. Kenny had the privilege of spending a week in Italy with Meghan & Justin and their closest family and friends as they prepared for the wedding, and by the time all was said and done he left with over 2,000 photos and lifelong friends.
Their wedding was held at a wonderful farmhouse called Il Greppo, right outside Montepulciano in the heart of Tuscany. The area produces some of the finest wines in the country and boasts some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever laid my eyes on. Meghan & Justin planned their intimate Italian affair with the help of Cristiana Chiacchierini and Max Brunelli, who also second shot with Kenny. Although lavish decor was far from necessary for their venue, we love the details the couple incorporated. I personally adore Meghan’s stunning strapless gown, braided up-do, turquoise and pearl necklace, and sandals. Destination brides, take notes.
"... We were sooooo excited about the planning of our wedding week and the chance to spend a whole week with 50 of our closest friends and family members in Tuscany, Italy.
When the time came that all 50 of our guests flew in to Rome, we had a large bus waiting for them where many people got the chance to meet for the first time. After the two hour bus ride to Tuscany it was time for the welcoming drink. This welcoming drink turned into a welcoming drinking session!
We spent hours drinking Il Greppo’s delicious white wine, hugging and laughing like crazy. Some of us friends hadn't seen eachother in two months, where as some family members haven't seen eachother in over 10 years. Great reunion.
The rest of the week was packed with activities such as wine tasting on Il Greppo’s property, sightseeing Cortona, Siena, San Gimignano and Lake Trasimeno, as well as an Italian cooking lesson given by the famous Max & Cristiana.
I must say the destination wedding location was superb, it had accommodations for all of our guests, separate villas for the “adults” and “children”, a beautiful pool for the sunny hot weather we had throughout the week and a wonderful family (Paolo, Luigi, Mama, & Papa) that ran the property and treated us as their own family.
Thank you everyone for joining us in Italy, it was a trip that Justin and I will never forget in all time. Hopefully we will get to meet again at our reception, more partying to come! ..."
